Dear friends and classical
music lovers!
Volos has a rich artistic tradition; a part of this tradition is owed to the historic
society "Friends of Arts of Volos", which for more than 50 years has organized
performances with many of the greatest artists of the 20th century. This artistic
tradition continues nowadays with the Volos Symphony Orchestra, the Youth Symphony
Orchestra of Volos, the Conservatory, the Music School of Volos and the numerous choirs of
all types.
Target of the Volos' International Music Festival is to exhaust through a significant
number of concerts many sections of classical music. The main aim of the Festival is to
bring closer artists and their cultures through the magic of music, in order to continue
their artistic activities with new collaborations and artistic exchanges.
The Festival will be advertised through media, Greek television, radio, press and the
artists will have the opportunity to present their work through interviews in TV and
radio. A large promotion will be provided also by our Web site and other links .There will
be a free professional CD recording and a video recording for all the participants.The
Festival will provide to all the artists the world-famous Greek hospitality in a hotel in
Volos near the sea.
The Volos' International Music Festival will offer to the participants an experience for
life, because they will have the opportunity to perform in the same halls, where artists
like Sviatoslav Richter, Enrico Mainardi, Julius Katchen, Ruggiero Ricci, Paul
Badura-Skoda, Smetana Quartet, Roberto Szidon, Alexandre Uninski, Gina Bachauer, Andr�
Navarra etc. had performed in the past years.
